Name: 'Bond of Union'
Date: 1956
Medium: Lithograph print
The Bond of Union portreys the relationship between two people. Although the painting techniques are traditional and the pictures show two identifiable objects, the content is irrational and displays a dream like fantasy that could not exist in a world of reality. The world that M.C. Escher has created for himself does not allow for the conventions of reality. This picture has spheres that do not have ans apparant place in the picture, enforcing the portrayal of random thought. Even though the speres seem un connected, in the world of a surrealist circles represent infinity.
